Arsenal and Everton have made matching bids of €48m (£42.5m) for PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano, according to Super Deportivo.

The Mexican news outlet reports their sources have confirmed that both offers are very much genuine, and that talks are in the “very advanced” stages. It is not known however which club will land the 22 year old.

Lozano signed from Pachuca for €24m last summer Super Deportivo reports (although Transfermarkt puts the figure at €8m), making him the most expensive player in Mexican football history, and he has more than paid back his transfer fee already, having scored 11 goals in just 15 games for PSV.

At this moment in time, it is not known whether Lozano’s move will come in January or at the end of the season, but it seems that there is genuine interest from the Gunners.

The Mexican was first linked with a move to the Emirates stadium back in early October when a €25m fee was suggested, but if Super Deportivo is to be believed, his value has almost doubled in the last couple of months. Whether there is any truth to the story, we will have to wait and see.
