Ajax are expected to beat the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Porto and PSV to the signing of KV Mechelen winger Hassane Bande, according to De Telegraaf.
The Dutch newspaper reports the Eredivisie side have already agreed a €9.5m (£8.36m) fee for the 19 year old, with sources close to the player saying a five year contract is being discussed.
It is believed that Bande will agree personal terms today, with a medical taking place before his move is finalised in January. The player himself was reportedly spotted at a hotel close to the Amsterdam Arena where Ajax play, suggesting a switch is imminent.
The left winger is playing his first season of professional football but he has taken the Belgian Pro League by storm with eight goals in 13 games. His performances have led to many of Europe’s top clubs to watch the player, but it seems as though the newly capped Burkina Faso international will now be plying his trade in the Netherlands for the second half of the season.
