Ajax have received an offer from Arsenal for their centre back Matthijs de Ligt, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalan newspaper also reports the Dutch club have bids from four other teams: Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus while two more, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, are also interested in the 18 year old.
De Ligt will only be sold for over €50million with Ajax said to rate the Dutch international more highly than Davinson Sanchez, who was sold to Tottenham for €40m in the summer.
Barcelona had been planning to sign the centre half in the summer, but it seems the bids from other clubs, could force their hand into making a bid in January instead.
It seems that the Gunners, and the other clubs, have not yet met Ajax’s asking price, as Mundo Deportivo report that Dortmund could edge ahead of their rivals by making their own offer for one of Europe’s most sought after young defenders.
