Inter Milan may consider reviving their bid to sign Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi at the end of the season, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reports the Serie A club intend to strengthen at the back by purchasing another centre half, and they are likely to revisit their interest in the German international.
Reports in August suggested that Mustafi was subject to a loan offer from Inter, with a €25m purchase option. The proposal was reportedly well short of the Gunners’ expectations and he remained at the Emirates stadium.
Since then, the 25 year old has put in some good performances, most notably against Chelsea and Spurs, and after the London derby victory last weekend, the centre half lashed out at media reports linking him with a move away from the club.
A lot will depend on the Mustafi’s form between now and the end of the season to determine whether Arsenal would be prepared to sell the defender. In his current form, there is certainly no chance the club would let him go.
