Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is aware that star player Nabil Fekir will be subject to offers from major clubs in the summer, but he believes the 24 year old will remain at the Ligue One side.
The French international has been in scintillating form this campaign, having scored 11 times in 11 league appearances despite not being an out and out forward, but Aulas says he will do all he can to keep the Lyon captain. He was quoted by the Sun as saying:
“Of course he’ll get offers. But that said, we’re going to do everything for Nabil to stay and I think he wants to stay.”
The Daily Star reported earlier this week that the Gunners were close to sealing a £60m deal for Fekir, but Aulas’s comments suggest that this is wide of the mark.
Other reports have however tipped the Frenchman to be a summer transfer target as Arsenal seek replacements for both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez who are likely to depart either in January or on free transfers at the end of the season.
