Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka will be offered up to £207,000 a week to remain at the German club, according to Bild.

The tabloid reports the Bundesliga side are so keen to keep the 22 year old they are willing to break their wage structure to make sure he signs a new contract.

Goretzka’s current deal expires at the end of the season with Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus all reportedly pursuing the midfielder. The German international is one of the most high profile players who will be available to sign on a pre-contract agreement in January.

Bild have previously reported that Schalke were prepared to offer up to €10m a season to the midfielder, but the latest offer will mean he could earn up to €12m a year, breaking the £200,000 a week mark.

Even if Goretzka does sign a new deal, it seems other clubs will still be in with a chance of signing the player. Schalke are also willing to add a release clause in the “mid double digit million range,” Bild says which could be anything between €40m and €60m.
