Arsenal will look to sign Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir ahead of Monaco’s Thomas Lemar as they seek replacements for both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, reports the Mirror.
The Gunners were close to sealing a €100m deal for Lemar on transfer deadline day back in August but the move for the French international fell through. The winger has failed to recapture his form of last season with just one goal and three assists in his first 14 games this campaign.
It is believed Arsenal may switch targets away from the 22 year old, with the club believing they will face more competition next summer for the midfielder’s signature when Monaco look to sell the player.
Fekir is seen as a good alternative after having a stellar start to the league season for Lyon. The Frenchman is only two years older than Lemar, and has scored 12 goals from 15 games in an attacking midfield role.
With Lemar currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, Fekir was selected in the France squad instead for the friendlies against Wales and Germany this week. Whether a move to Arsenal is on the cards next, we will see.
