Liverpool will look to rival Arsenal in the race to sign Julian Draxler on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, according to L’Equipe (via the Daily Mail).
The German international was reportedly a target for the Reds before his £36m move to PSG last January, but the 24 year old opted to make the switch to France instead.
It seems that Draxler is still reluctant to leave the Parc des Princes as things stand, despite both Liverpool and the Gunnerss looking to capture his signature. The playmaker has been played in a deeper central role this season to accommodate new signings Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, and he continues to be a part of PSG manager Unai Emery’s first team plans, despite being left on the bench for the Ligue One side’s last league game against Nantes.
There are however a lot of matches to play between now and the beginning of the January transfer window. If the German begins to figure less prominently, his feelings about staying may change and both Arsenal and Liverpool may then see their chance to pounce.
