Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi has declared himself “happy” to stay at his current club despite admitting he would like a return to English football one day.

Arsenal have long been rumoured as a potential destination for the Frenchman, but despite the question marks over his future at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, he continues to perform weel for Sevilla, and has even broken into the France national team for the first time at the age of 28.

The former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City player has been playing in Spain for the last two and half seasons after making the £7m switch from the Potters back in July 2015. Speaking after making his debut for France in a 2-0 win over Wales, he was quoted by the Mirror as saying:

“I love the Premier League. I really like the Premier League, this is where I started at a good level. I had a great time there. I don’t know what is going to happen in the future. I am fine at Sevilla, I feel good. I am used to it now. It is my third season so I am happy.”

N’Zonzi signed a new deal with Sevilla last January with his release clause rising from €30m (£27m) to €40m (£36m) according to Marca. Whether that will be enough to put off any major suitors when the January window opens, we will have to wait and see.
