Sevilla will step up their pursuit of Racing Genk midfielder Sander Berge in the January transfer window, according to the Estadio Deportivo, but they fear competition from both Arsenal and Everton.

The Spanish club reportedly offered €12million for the 19 year old in the summer but Genk rejected the offer. The La Liga side are said to be still keen on the Norwegian international, and will likely make an improved offer for the player either in January or at the end of the season.

Berge was first linked with an £18m move to Arsenal back in June by the Mirror but the midfielder played down his chances of leaving Genk in an interview with Het Beland van Limburg the following month.

The holding midfield player only moved from Valerenga for £1.8m last January, and this season he has made ten appearances for Genk in all competitions, although he has yet to score or provide an assist for his team.
