Inter Milan are interested in making a January approach for Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, according to Calciomercato.it.

The 28 year old is reportedly deemed surplus to requirements by Arsene Wenger if reports at the weekend are to be believed and the England international could be subject to a bid from the Serie A side.

Inter’s current right winger Antonio Candreva has had a tough start to the season, and was booed off by Nerazzurri fans when the club faced Genoa a couple of weeks ago. The 30 year old did however provide an assist in Inter’s 2-1 win over Benevento last weekend.

Walcott could be Candreva’s replacement, Calciomercato.it reports, with Chelsea tipped as a possible destination for the Italian international after having a keen interest in the player previously. The Englishman’s arrival however could merely signal a change of formation by manager Luciano Spalletti with Candreva moving into a number 10 role while Walcott provides support for main striker Mauro Icardi from the right hand side.
