Marseille will look to sign Arsenal striker Lucas Perez at the end of the season, according to Le10 Sport.
The Spaniard is currently on loan at Deportivo La Coruna for the remainder of the campaign, but Marseille sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is a massive fan of the 29 year old’s abilities, and will look to hijack Depor’s attempts at bringing the forward back permanently to Spain.
The La Liga side could not agree a transfer fee with the Gunners to sign the player in the summer, leading to the loan move on deadline day instead. Depor offered €12m for Perez which was believed to be €3m short of Arsenal’s €15m valuation of the player.
It is likely that the Spanish side will struggle to match the Gunners’s asking price again next year, and Marseille may then have the opportunity to get their man. Perez has made five league appearances since his return to Spain, scoring one goal in Deportivo’s last league match in a 2-1 victory against Getafe .
