Arsenal and Inter Milan are both interested in Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic, according to Guerin Sportivo (via Football-Italia.net).

The Serbian has not had the best of times since joining the Partenopei from Torino for €25m in the summer of 2016. He made just ten starts last season, and he has also failed to break in to the first team this campaign.

He has so far managed just one league start, in the 3-2 win over SPAL, and he is behind the first choice centre back pairing of Kalidou Koulibaly and Raul Albiol in the pecking order at the San Paolo.

The 25 year old has nearly four years remaining on his contract at the Serie A club, but he could be on his way in January, with Guerin Sportivo reporting that the Gunners are monitoring the centre half’s situation.

Maksimovic is still a regular for his country though, and he played the full 90 minutes in 1-0 win over Georgia on Monday, which secured Serbia’s qualification for the World Cup.
