Manchester United have entered the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Mijat Gacinovic, according to the Mirror.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich have watched the 22 year old in recent months but it seems they will now have competition from United. Manager Jose Mourinho was seen in the stands as Austria beat Serbia 3-2 on Friday night, and it is believed the Portuguese boss was watching the Serbian.
Gacinovic was first reported to be on Arsenal’s radar at the start of last month when the Italian newspaper the Corriere Dello Sport said that the Gunners were keeping an eye on the Serbian international’s progress, along with Bayern.
The midfielder has had an impressive start to his career at international level, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his first three caps. His performances reportedly impressed Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic enough to recommend Gacinovic to Mourinho.
The player can play right across the midfield, playing centrally, on the right hand side or as left winger. Against Austria on Friday, he played on the left, while for his club side Frankfurt, most of his displays have been in the middle of the park.
