Arsenal are facing three other Premier League teams in the fight to sign Sheffield United midfielder David Brooks, according to the Mirror reporter Bill Cooper.

Liverpool are currently believed to be front runners for the 20 year old’s signature with West Ham and Newcastle United also monitoring the Welshman’s situation. The Reds are said to be lining up a bid of £10m for the player in the January transfer window.

Brooks has had to adapt to the rigours of the Championship this season, after featuring for the Blades in their promotion from League One last campaign. The attacking midfielder has started three league games this season, whilst being a substitute in seven others. He usually plays as a support striker or in the number 10 role, and has two assists to his name so far.

Despite only having made 21 senior appearances in his career, he was called up to Wales’s senior side for the most recent World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and the Republic of Ireland.
