Southampton are interested in re-signing Arsenal winger Theo Walcott, according to the Daily Express.
The 28 year old signed for the Gunners from the Saints for £10m in 2006, and has gone on to make 309 appearances for the club, but Southampton may make an attempt in January to bring the England international back to the South Coast.
Mauricio Pellegrino’s team are looking for extra firepower to kick start their season, and the Express say they would be prepared to pay £12m – £15m in order to secure Walcott’s signature.
The winger will have eighteen months left on his contract in January, and after having failed to start a single Premier League match so far this season, it could be the case that the player’s time at the Emirates has come to an end.
Walcott was linked with a switch to Inter Milan by Calciomercato.it earlier this week, and speculation seems to be growing over his future at the club.
