Arsenal have joined the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United in pursuing Genoa teenager Pietro Pellegri, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Italian website reports that the Gunners, along with Monaco, sent scouts to watch the 16 year old play against Chievo Verona last night. The forward played his first full 90 minutes of professional football in the 1-1 draw, although he did not manage to score.

It follows on from Pellegri’s double against Lazio last weekend in a 3-2 defeat. The teenager looks to be one of Europe’s brightest young talents with clubs in Italy, France and England all vying to sign the forward.

The Italian Under 17 international was reportedly close to a move to Inter Milan over the summer, but the player remained with Genoa, where his father is the assistant manager.

The Daily Express reported yesterday that the striker’s agent was in London for talks with potential suitors, although that has not been confirmed by more reliable sources.
