Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will have to head off opposition in the club’s dressing room if he wants to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish publication reports the Chilean international has been a long term target for Perez, and he will ignore question marks over the players age (28), and the fact he played for rivals Barcelona, to force through the signing.

Captain Sergio Ramos is believed to be one of a number of players who believe Sanchez isn’t the right fit for the club. They feel that Real should be looking to sign younger players, who can help build the future of the club, similar to the likes of Marco Asensio. There are many also who are siding with Karim Benzema, the player Sanchez is likely to replace, and who Perez is looking to sell rather than offer a new contract to.

The final decision however rests with Perez, and the Spanish club’s president believes that Sanchez will be a good acquisition. He reportedly feels that Arsenal will be willing to sell for a low figure in the January transfer window so the Chilean doesn’t leave on a free transfer next summer.
