Arsenal defender Rob Holding did not have the best of matches to say the least against Cologne last night. The centre back was substituted at half time after struggling in the first half.
It has been a steep learning curve for the 21 year old since his £2.5m move from Bolton Wanderers last summer, and it seems that his confidence has been shattered.
He was replaced by Sead Kolasinac in the second half who proceeded to score an equaliser for the Gunners just four minutes after his introduction.
It will be interesting to see whether manager Arsene Wenger will look to keep faith with the England Under 21 international or if he is now destined for a long spell out of the first team.
As expected the reaction on Twitter to his first half display was not particularly kind, but equally it must be said, there are certain standards you have to keep if you want to be a regular first team player for the Gunners.
Rob Holding simply isn’t good enough to play for Arsenal.

Rob Holding’s confidence has taken a hiding so far this season. Not being managed well.

Remember when we all said Rob Holding was better than John Stones ? Good times

There were some who defended the youngster though:
I see Rob Holding is getting slaughtered. Good job Twitter wasn’t around when Tony Adams started his career ain’t it?
