Liverpool look to rival Arsenal in January pursuit of Ligue One playmaker

|

Arsenal and Liverpool are both likely to rekindle their interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler during the January transfer window, according to Calciomercato.com

The Italian website reports that Juventus were also interested in the 23 year old but they have since ended their pursuit.

Spanish publication Don Balon said at the weekend that Draxler is concerned that his game time will be reduced at the Parc des Princes after the arrival of both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at the club.

The German international has however started PSG’s last two league matches, playing on the right wing in the French club’s 5-1 victory over Metz, and moving to a more central position for the side’s 2-0 win against Lyon at the weekend.

The Gunners’s success in catching Draxler either in January or the summer will likely be dependent on whether PSG manager Unai Emery continues to pick the player in the first team or if his match time begins to be limited as the season wears on.
