Arsenal youth academy player Donyell Malen has made a permanent switch to PSV Eindhoven, according to Eindhovens Dagblad.

The Dutch newspaper says that the 18 year old has signed a three year contract with the Eredivisie side, and will join up with Jong PSV who play in the Dutch second division.

Malen was signed by the Gunners from Ajax in 2015, and he was selected for the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and China earlier this summer. He made his debut for the senior side against Sydney FC in a 2-0 win, and also featured in the friendly against Chelsea in Shanghai.

Despite being praised by Arsene Wenger for his performances on the tour, Malen obviously has not done enough to convince the Frenchman that he can make it as a future Premier League player.

The striker has caps for the Netherlands at Under 19 level, and he will now be trying to make a name for himself playing in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.
