After being unable to finalise a move for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar on deadline day last month, Arsenal have now returned to monitoring another wide player, Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Brazilian has been the subject of numerous transfer stories linking him with a switch to the Emirates in recent months, but the player has never reportedly been subject to an official bid from Arsenal.

Moura started this season injured, but he made an instant impact on his return to action against Metz at the weekend. After coming on as a substitute, he scored ten minutes after replacing Edinson Cavani, sealing a 5-1 win for PSG.

With Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Cavani also scoring in the same match, and likely to be manager Unai Emery’s preferred front three, Moura will likely have to be satisfied with being an impact substitute for now.

The winger may feel a bit hard done by though after his performances last season when he scored 19 goals, and contributed 11 assists, in 53 matches.
