Arsenal may look to offer Alexis Sanchez in a part exchange deal for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, according to the Sun journalist Daniel Cutts.

It is believed the Chilean international would have joined City in a £60m deal on deadline day if Arsenal had of secured the £92m capture of Lemar, but the Frenchman’s decision to remain in Monaco scuppered both transfers from going ahead.

Despite the breakdown in negotiations at the back end of last month, Monaco are however believed to be happy to receive Sanchez as part of any deal for Lemar in January. They were reportedly interested in the Chilean in August but the player is said to have his heart set on moving to City

Sanchez would be free to turn down any such move when the transfer window reopens, in view to a summer free transfer switch to Manchester City, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen to persuade the 28 year old to move abroad. Whether the Frenchman can manage that, we will have to wait and see.
