CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin has revealed he is open to a move to Arsenal.

The 21 year old was scouted by the Gunners at the Confederations Cup after manager Arsene Wenger asked agent Sandor Varga to keep an eye on the player for him during the tournament.

Speaking in a wide ranging interview with Russian website Sport Express, Golovin said he was happy to hear that Arsenal had shown an interest in him:

“Of course, I will be pleased that such a club is interested in me. In my opinion, every football player, regardless of age, wants to play in Europe. I’m not an exception.”

The playmaker however said he isn’t sure if he would make the grade in the Premier League but he would like the opportunity to find out.

“I would like to try my strength there. Still, I do not have a clear idea of whether I’m ready for Arsenal.”

Golovin has started the season well for CSKA. Playing predominantly as an attacking midfielder in the middle of the park, the Russian has scored two goals and contributed one assist in six appearances so far this campaign, having already played three games in the qualifying rounds for the Champions League.
