Sassuolo are waiting on the sale of Federico Peluso being making a move for either Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson or Pescara’s Cristiano Biraghi, according to the Corriere Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper reported yesterday that three Italian clubs, including Sassuolo, were looking at signing the England international but it seems any negotiations with Cristian Bucchi’s side will have to wait until Peluso’s situation is resolved.

Coincidentally Peluso’s main suitor is Cagliari, one of the other clubs who are interested in Jenkinson. The Sassuolo defender is a left back and Cagliari are apparently looking for two full backs; one on either flank.

Arsenal are reportedly keen to offload Jenkinson, as well as the likes of Mathieu Debuchy, Jack Wilshere, David Ospina and Kieran Gibbs, in order to finance a move for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar. However, they have become frustrated by players refusing to take pay cuts to leave the Emirates.

If Jenkinson is keen on a switch to Italy, he will no doubt need to take a significant wage cut as well to make a move happen.
