Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will soon sign on loan with Dutch Eredivisie side VVV Venlo, according to Voetbal International.
The 19 year old has been heavily linked with a switch to the Netherlands over the past month but it seems a work permit issue has caused a delay in the loan deal being finalised.
Nwakali signed for the Gunners from the Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria after impressing at the 2015 Under 17 World Cup, but he has been unable to play in this country due to work permit problems.
To get game time he was loaned out to Dutch second division side MVV Maastricht last season where he played 30 games in all competitions, and scored two goals.
His performances brought him to the attention of Eredivisie clubs and a switch to VVV has been on the cards for a number of weeks. It looks as though everything has now been resolved on the work permit front with the club’s technical director Stan Valckx telling Voetbal International:
“The paper work should no longer produce any problems… Nwakali wants to travel to VVV, Arsenal wants him to join us and we want him. In the coming days, it must all happen.”
