Swansea City, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are all targeting a move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere before the end of the transfer window, according to the Mirror journalist John Cross.

However, the newspaper also reports that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is willing to give the 25 year old one last chance to save his Arsenal career. The midfielder’s time at the club looked to be over with no new contract talks on the horizon, despite the player having less than 12 months to run on his current deal, but it seems Wenger has had a change of heart.

Whether that means Wilshere will be offered a new contract it is not known, but it seems like the England international’s future is very much in his own hands. He can either choose to stay and fight for his place, or he could opt to leave rather than run the risk of failing to break back into the starting eleven.
