West Ham United, and Real Betis are all interested in signing midfielder before the close of the window, according to Daily Star journalist Jack Staplehurst.

With the 25 year old having less than 12 months left on his contract, a permanent seems to be the more likely outcome but the newspaper believe that a loan move is also possible.

The Hammers are said to be the front runners as they are Wilshere’s preferred destination but Slaven Bilic’s side are pursuing a number of alternatives in the England international’s position.

Although a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder looks to be dead, a loan bid for midfielder is being pursued, and if they land the Portuguese international, would have to consider other options.

The Estadio Deportivo reported on Tuesday that Betis had been offered but it is believed the Spanish club are looking for a midfielder with a different profile, and may only consider the Gunners star as a fallback option.
