Swansea are interested in signing Arsenal right back Carl Jenkinson, according to the Mirror.

Reports from Italy have suggested that the 25 year old is being pursued by a trio of Serie A clubs, Cagliari, Hellas Verona and Sassuolo, but a move to Wales would likely be favoured by Jenkinson due to both the wages that the Swans could offer, and the fact he would remain in the Premier League.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has said he is looking to offload a number of players before making anymore signings this summer, and Jenkinson has been one of the likeliest candidates to leave since Arsenal accepted a bid for the former England international from Crystal Palace back in January.

The move to the Eagles broke down but the Gunners are still keen to sell Jenkinson with the full back only having a year left on his contract. The Mirror report however that the London side may even consider a loan deal to get the defender’s wages off the club’s books.
