Arsenal centre back Shkodran Mustafi will not be moving to Inter Milan on transfer deadline day, according to the player’s father.

Kujtim Mustafi has revealed his son will be staying with Arsenal until at least January. The German international’s father is also his agent and he is quoted by Calciomercato.com as saying:

“I’m at home resting and as well as being his father is also his agent, means that today nothing will happen.”

The confirmation comes after intense speculation in recent days that a loan move to Serie A was on the cards. The fact that the 25 year old was benched for the Gunners’ 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday only increased talk that a switch was imminent but it seems as though Inter have not been able to come up with an offer that Arsenal are happy with.

Sky in Italy reported that the Italian club had offered a loan deal, with a €5m loan fee and an obligation to buy for €25m at the end of the season. TV network Mediaset Premium believed the purchase price was  €30m but it seems like the deal is off either way.
