Arsenal have rejected a €10million bid from Deportivo La Coruna for striker Lucas Perez, according to AS.
The Evening Standard have reported that the Gunners want £13.4million (€15million) for the 28 year old but the Madrid based newspaper say Depor are unlikely to meet Arsenal’s demands.
Perez is keen to return to the city of his birth but Deportivo are now more pessimistic than ever that a deal can be done to re-sign the Spaniard. AS say that the La Liga club and the player’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle will now see if patience pays off.
Depor are hoping that if Perez does not secure a transfer, the Gunners may lower their demands the closer they get to the end of August. Manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen to get the striker off the club’s books and does not want to loan out the player.
Newcastle could be an alternative option for the Gunners in making a sale but the Evening Standard say the Magpies have not placed a formal bid, and have only made an enquiry at this stage.
