Deportivo La Coruna are weighing up whether to withdraw their interest in Arsenal striker Lucas Perez in order to pursue a move for a new goalkeeper, according to AS.

Ruben started Depor’s 3-0 defeat against Real Madrid in their opening La Liga match at the weekend, but he was at fault for conceding the club’s first goal, and question marks have been raised over his suitability to be the club’s number one keeper.

To finance any move for a new goalkeeper though, they would have to sacrifice some of the funds they have put aside to re-sign Perez from Arsenal. The Spanish side had a £11m bid rejected by the Gunners for the striker earlier this month with the London club setting an asking price of £13.75m or €15m.

Deportivo must decide whether to buy Perez, or choose a much less expensive striker and leave the remaining funds to buy a new keeper before August 31st.
