Real Madrid will refuse to sell Marcos Llorente to city rivals Atletico, according to AS, giving Arsenal a greater chance of signing the 22 year old.

The Spanish publication say that in addition to Atletico, there are six clubs interested in the former Spanish Under 21 international. The Gunners have been joined in the hunt by Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Sevilla and Liverpool.

Llorente came back from a season long loan spell at Alaves to be part of Real’s first team plans this campaign, but he remains behind Casemiro in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

Real may consider selling Llorente for the right price, AS reports, and it would be considerably less than the massive €200million release clause that the player has in his contract.

Gunners boss has been linked with a number of central midfield players this summer but so far there have been no signings that have strengthened the middle of the park.
