Arsenal look set to keep a 30% sell on clause on Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to Besiktashaberleri.com.

Representatives travelled to London for talks with the Gunners about the 24 year old, and offered €1million to buyout the clause which would give the Turkish champions the full amount of any future transfer fee.

Ozyakup was in Arsenal’s academy for four years before moving to Besiktas in 2012. He has become a fixture in the club’s first team over the past five seasons, and has reportedly been subject to offers close to €15million in the past, which would suggest the Gunners would miss out if they agreed to sign away their sell on clause.

In any case, Ozyakup looks set to remain at Besiktas for the long term. A new five year contract, worth €2.3million a season has been agreed in principle, Besiktashaberleri.com reports, but the club were hopeful of acquiring 100% of the economic rights in the player. It seems likely however that Arsenal will keep their share of any future transfer fee.
