Inter Milan are trying to sign Caen winger Yann Karamoh on loan despite the player’s contract expiring at the end of the season, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian press reported earlier this month that Arsenal and Manchester City were also interested in the player but that Inter had won the race for the France Under 21 international.

It seems as though the Italian side are unwilling to pay Caen’s valuation despite other clubs having matched their asking price. Instead Inter are looking for Caen to extend the player’s contract in order for the loan move to go ahead.

Whether this leaves any hope for the Gunners, it is unknown. Karamoh is said to have his heart set on the move to Italy but so far no deal has been agreed despite the transfer window closing at the end of next week.

If no transfer takes place, and the 19 year old’s contract is not renewed, interested clubs will have the opportunity of talking to the player in January about a free transfer next summer.
