Bundesliga side Werder Bremen are ready step in to sign Wellington Silva, according to ESPN FC.

The winger was originally going to be re-signed by Arsenal in order to be sold on for a profit to Ligue One club Bordeaux but a failed medical last month meant a move to France never materialised for the Brazilian.

It is believed that the issue that led to the 24 year old failing the medical was only minor, and it won’t hinder any future transfer from going ahead. The Gunners have a buyback option in place for Wellington Silva with his current club Fluminense and they would need Bremen to offer up a deal similar to one that Bordeaux proposed.

Fluminense are keen to keep the player, but are powerless to stop Arsenal from selling him on, but the Gunners won’t take the player back unless they can be guaranteed of some sort of profit from the deal.
