Arsenal right back Carl Jenkinson will have to choose between Swansea City and newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion to leave the Emirates, according to the Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel.

The 25 year old was left out of the Gunners’ tour of Australia and the Far East, making it clear that the player no longer had a future at the club.

In truth, his Arsenal career has been over for quite a while. Manager Arsene Wenger accepted a bid from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window but the move was never finalised, and he remained with the Gunners for the remainder of the season.

The England international never really established himself at Arsenal after making the move from Charlton Athletic in 2011. The best part of two years were spent out on loan at West Ham, while injuries have also meant he has made just 62 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.
