Arsenal are among four clubs who are monitoring Thomas Muller’s situation at Bayern Munich, reports Sport Bild.
Along with the Gunners, Juventus, Chelsea and Liverpool are all watching to see what role the 27 year old has in Carlo Ancelotti’s side next season after the Bavarian club signed James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on a two year loan deal.
Muller had a poor season by his standards last season, scoring just nine goals in 42 appearances. It must be said however that Ancelotti employed him in two different positions last campaign, playing more games in the number ten position than his more recognised “Raumdeuter” role from the right wing. His 17 assists suggest he was still a vital player for Bayern.
The arrival of Rodriguez could change things though. The Colombian international plays either as a number 10 or on the right wing, just like Muller. A move away from Germany still looks unlikely though. Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge described Muller as “unsellable” to Sport Bild, which probably suggests this rumour has no legs to it.
