Juventus goalkeeper Neto’s refusal to join Watford is the main reason behind the delay in Arsenal goalkeeper’s Wojciech Szczesny move to Turin, according to Tuttosport.

The Brazilian is currently Juve’s number two goalkeeper behind Gianluigi Buffon, but the Bianconeri are banking on using the vast bulk of the proceeds from his sale to finance a move for the Gunners stopper.

Currently there are two bids on the table for Neto. Watford’s offer of €9million is Juventus’s preferred choice, but Spanish club Valencia have also bid €6million.

Neto wants to join the La Liga side, but Juve don’t want to lose out on €3million as they will need it to try and match Arsenal’s valuation for Szczesny. The Gunners are holding out for €15million, and so far the Serie A champions have only mustered a paltry €4m. The €9m from Neto’s sale to the Hornets would go a long way to Szczesny’s move to Italy finally going through.
