Juventus are preparing to launch an improved £7million bid for Wojciech Szczesny, according to reports in Italy.

It’s thought that the Serie A champions are interested in signing the out-of-favour Arsenal goalkeeper this summer and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they are ready to table a £7million offer for the Poland international.

Juventus see Szczesny as a long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon and know he only has 12 months left to run on his existing contract at the Emirates.

Szczesny has spent the past two seasons out on loan to Roma and is expected to leave the Emirates this summer as Arsene Wenger favours the experience of Petr Cech between the sticks.

Arsenal did turn down a £4million opening offer from Juventus, with the north London club reportedly holding out for £20million.

Should Szczesny make a move to Juventus then he is likely to spend his first season at the Italian club as understudy to Buffon, who is set to retire after the 2018 World Cup.
