The agent of Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan has told Turkish media that the 30 year old is now expected to remain in Spain.

There has been speculation that Arsenal were lining up a bid for the Turkish international but talking to NTV (via Sport), Ahmet Bulut says he expects Arda to see out his contract at the Camp Nou:

“Arda has a three year contract and will be with Barcelona at the beginning of the preseason… Nothing has changed, everything is the same and Arda will fulfil his contract.”

Catalan newspaper Sport are reporting that Barca are keen to offload the midfielder during the summer transfer window but with interest from Arsenal failing to materialise, they are now hoping that super agent Jorge Mendes, a business partner of Bulut’s, can generate some interest in the player.

The Turkish star has not performed poorly for Barca by any stretch of the imagination. He scored 13 goals and contributed seven assists in 30 appearances last season for the La Liga side, but it looks like he is not part of new Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde’s future plans.
