Bordeaux are offering €7.27million (£6.5m) for Wellington Silva, according to L’Equipe, and he will complete his move “next week”.
The French publication is reporting that Arsenal will be receiving 45% of the fee that the Ligue One club have offered for the Brazilian. Earlier this week, Fluminense president Pedro Abad revealed to Fox Sports that the Gunners were going to buy back the player for €4million.
If my maths is correct that means that Arsenal will receive €3.27m (4 / 0.55 = 7.27 and 7.27 – 4 = 3.27) from the sale or approximately £3million.
Silva was sold back to Fluminense last July after signing as a youth player from the Brazilian club in 2011. Despite his five years with the Gunners he never made a first team appearance for the club. Most of the time was spent out on loan at six different clubs, including Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Real Murcia, Almeria and Bolton Wanderers.
The winger’s sale included a buyback clause, which Arsenal will activate to make a tidy profit on the player.
