Arsenal right back Mathieu Debuchy will be allowed to leave on a free transfer if he can find a new club this summer, according to L’Equipe.

The Frenchman was not included in the Gunners’ tour party to Australia, and looks to have no future at the Emirates. The full back made the switch from Newcastle United for £12.75m back in 2014. He signed a five year contract when he joined and he still has two years remaining on that deal.

Debuchy played for only 16 minutes last season. He started the 3-1 win over Bournemouth in November but was taken off just after the quarter hour mark with a hamstring injury.

The 31 year old spent the next two months on the sidelines before recovering full fitness. He was included in just one first team squad after the Bournemouth game, taking his place on the bench for the FA Cup fifth round tie against Sutton United in February. He was firmly out of the first team picture throughout last season playing on just two further occasions for the Under 23s side.
