Arsenal will look to make a new offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho after the Portuguese club decided to lower their demands for the 25 year old, reports Fichajes.net.
The Spanish website say the Portuguese international is not high on the list of priorities for the Gunners, but Sporting’s willingness to sell the player this summer will prompt them to make a bid for the player in the “coming weeks.”
Carvalho is a regular starter for the Portuguese national side as a holding midfielder but Sporting are looking to offload the player, along with team mate Adrien Silva, to finance moves for other players.
The central midfield player has 37 caps for Portugal but the Portuguese newspaper Record have reported Sporting are prepared to let the player leave for €30m (£26.8m), €15m below Carvalho’s reported buyout clause of €45million.
Last season, the Portuguese star made 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and contributing four assists.
