The Spanish website say the Portuguese is not high on the list of priorities for , but Sporting’s willingness to sell the player this summer will prompt them to make a bid for the player in the “coming weeks.”

Carvalho is a regular starter for the Portuguese national side as a holding midfielder but Sporting are looking to offload the player, along with team mate , to finance moves for other .

The central midfield player has 37 caps for Portugal but the Portuguese newspaper Record have reported Sporting are prepared to let the player leave for €30m (£26.8m), €15m below Carvalho’s reported buyout clause of €45million.

Last season, the Portuguese star made 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and contributing four assists.
