Madrid based publication AS have reported that Atletico Madrid have not agreed a deal for Monaco midfielder Fabinho. The Brazilian was said to have agreed terms to stay at the Ligue One side until January before making the move to Spain.

Atletico have however denied that any negotiations have taken place. The midfielder has been linked to a host of clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain in recent months.

The 23 year old joined the Ligue One champions from Portuguese side Rio Ave two years ago for approximately £5m after a two year loan spell in France. His prospective move to Atletico was estimated at roughly €45m or £40m.

The midfielder played an integral role in Monaco’s league championship triumph last campaign, as well as helping his team to the Champions League semi-finals. He played 55 games last season in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and contributing six assists
