Arsenal could make a formal offer for Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri in the “coming days,” according to France Football.

The French magazine reports the Gunners may focus on signing Monaco winger Thomas Lemar before making a move for Seri. Manager Arsene Wenger has kept an eye on Seri throughout last season, with the Ivorian having been an integral part of Nice’s highly successful Ligue One campaign.

Roma have been the side most active in trying to secure the capture of the 26 year old but Nice will not sell the player unless a club meets the player’s €40m release clause.

France Football reports that the Gunners will not be put off by this figure, but they could face a challenge from London rivals Tottenham for his signature. The French publication says Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has considered Seri as a possible option to strengthen his midfield but their interest does not look as concrete as Arsenal’s.
