Arsenal will look to France to provide competition for current number one Petr Cech, according to Le10 Sport.
Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont and Saint-Etienne’s Stephane Ruffier are being lined up as potential replacements for David Ospina if the Colombian leaves the Emirates this summer.
The French news outlet reports the Gunners’ interest in Lafont is more current, while Arsenal scouts have watched Ruffier (30) over the past few months. A representative from the London club was last seen watching Saint-Etienne’s 1-1 draw against Nantes back in April when Ruffier was in goal.
Lafont meanwhile is Toulouse’s number one keeper despite being just 18 years of age. He made 38 appearances in all competitions last season, and is likely thought of as a long term successor for Cech. He is however also being tracked by AC Milan.
The Rossoneri were searching for potential alternatives for current number one goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma but with the Italian international closing in on a new deal at the San Siro, their interest in Lafont will likely cool leaving Arsenal as the clear favourites to sign the Frenchman.
