Arsenal are interested making a bid for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic this summer, according to BeIN Sports (via Tuttosport).

The Bosnian was linked with a move to the Emirates in the January transfer window and it appears manager Arsene Wenger is still looking to make a deal for the 27 year old.

BeIN Sports say that no official offer has been placed but there has been some contact between Juve and intermediaries from the Gunners with a fee in the region €40million (£35million) being suggested.

Currently it seems Arsenal’s pursuit of the playmaker is at an early stage with the London club putting out feelers to discover whether both the player and the club would be interested in a transfer.

The Gunners are desperately short of offensive minded central midfield players with Santi Cazorla still struggling to recover from an Achilles injury and Jack Wilshere possibly leaving with one year left on his contract.

Pjanic only joined the Serie A champions from Roma for £27m last summer but he has had an excellent first season with the Bianconeri, playing 47 games in all competitions, scoring eight goals and contributing 15 assists.
