Juventus are hopeful that Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will be able to join their preseason tour squad that flies out to the United States on Thursday, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper reports that after lengthy negotiations Juve and the Gunners have agreed a €10m (£8.8m) fee for the 27 year old. The Premier League side have seemingly compromised on their €16million asking price (£14m) which they were wanting for the Polish international.

There is some confusion with the exact figures though as Juvelive.it are reporting that the figure is closer to €14m (£12.2m) which may perhaps include any add-ons.

Szczesny did not travel with the Arsenal squad for the pre-season tour of Australia which suggested a transfer away from the Emirates was on the cards. He has spent two years in Italy as Roma’s number one goalkeeper but he will likely spend next season as Gianluigi Buffon’s deputy before the Italian legend retires next summer.
