Wolfsburg have signed Oostende striker Landry Dimata for €8million, beating Arsenal and West Ham to the 19 year old’s signature, according to Bild.

It is a significant outlay on a player who has yet to play for the Belgian senior side and has just one season of Belgian Pro League football to his name.

Dimata came through the youth academy at Standard Liege, but after failing to make an appearance for the Belgian club, he moved to Oostende for £425,000 in August last year.

Given the opportunity to start by Oostende, the striker scored 14 goals in 34 games last season, leading to interest from the Gunners and a number of other European clubs.

Nicknamed “Nany,” the forward has also been prolific at youth level for Belgium, scoring nine goals in 13 appearances for the Under 19s, before moving up to the Under 21s back in September, making two appearances so far without hitting the back of the net.
